MITE 8U HOCKEY

• 8U hockey birth year 2017 & 2018
• Red-White & Blue level teams participating in Empire Amateur Hockey League
• Red Mite Team will participate in a full ice league
• A skaters placement is determined through our evaluation process
• Practice will begin September 2025
• Mites practice on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays at Lakeshore
• The season runs from September- mid March
• Teams participating in the Empire League will participate in 12-14 half ice games 
• Focus on player development
• Clinics with the Lakeshore Hockey Academy
• Goalie Clinics with Brick Wall Goalie
• Games will be played primarily on the weekends

WHAT IS RED, WHITE, & BLUE?

8 and under teams are classified into three levels known as Red, White, and Blue.  These levels are used to estimate an individual team's competitiveness when scheduling games.  Birth year for next season is 2017 & 2018

• Red classification implies the highest level of competition and the players tend to be the second year 8U players who've been playing for a year or more already. This team will participate in a full ice league and both full & half ice tournaments
• White classification implies the team is competitive, and could be comprised of second and first year players
• Blue classification represents 8U teams that are usually comprised of first year players,  less experienced players
• Mite tryouts & evaluations will determine which team a skater will be placed on
